Hey there!

Here's some info about my car, the '87 VW Golf.

1.6 litre engine
7x15" Rial Viper alloys (I recon alloys are the same as aluminum rims?)
Thule roof rack (not a real rack, i just don't know the name for it)
Soon to come TA Technix coilovers, slammed to the bottom! :devil
Broken GTI-grille
Rusted bonnet (not mounted yet, needs more rust) ;)

I'm not going all the way with the mods, i'm keeping it simple.

Sorry about my english, please ask if there's something you don't understand. :)

Here are some pictures:
Image

Modified the grille a bit:

Bonnet attacked with the angle grinder...:

...and starting to rust, after some TLC with salt water and lemon juice:
Image

The roof "rack":

Got a real one here, but it's from a VW Beetle, so it needs some adjustments, like with an angle grinder and some wielding:
Image

Sanded the metal on the grille, but it won't rust, can someone tell me why?!

Hope yoy enjoy the pictures, and please leave a comment and your opinions! :)

Haha! As i said, i'm about to put on some coilovers and the new bonnet, and maybe some stickers if i find something.

The roofrack is to much fecking work to make fit, so i'll sort that out later.

Looked like this when i got it. Don't have alot of money or spare time, so it will take a while to make it right:

Well, my coilovers are at the post office, but can't get them because theres been a mistake about the payment. I paid it when i ordered it, but now i must pay for it one more time to get it out of the post office. I've contacted the seller, so i hope it's all right tomorrow. :) Then it's about to be slammed and fitted with a brand new old rusted bonnet. ;)

Rolling on steelies atm. because the alloys are touching the springs, so i need some spacers to make'm fit.

Thanks mate! :)

I would like some other steelies though...someone a bit wider and with a deeper dish, but this'll work just fine.

Turned som heads today, as i was driving it for the first time after the latest mods. Rat look aren't as common where i live, so i got a lot of smiles and weird looks from everyone. :D

Mission accomplished!

Got some 6x13 ATS Classics for about 50£

I'm planning to either sand and polish, or paint them matte black and polish the edges. Need some new tyres, probably 165/55 to get the car a bit lower.

Thanks guys!:D Forgot to mention that i switched to the original single-headlight grille instead of the GTI-grille. It fits better with the rest:) Will upload some more pics later on.

The rack is taken from my grandfathers old Beetle, so i chopped of the "legs", shortened them and welded it back on to make it fit:)

What do you think of the wheels? Sanded down the old paint and just laquered them with a spray can. Same thing with the tyres, just washed them and used normal white spray paint.
